Winemaker's Note:  The initials J.F.R. (John Frederick Riggs) are for my late father, the reason I make wine.

The J.F.R. Shiraz is a blend of three premium McLaren Vale vineyards: Piebald Gully, Gateway Vineyard and Martins Vineyard. This is the eighteenth release of Shiraz under the Mr. Riggs label, pristine fruit with dark red berries, hints of spice, earth, and leather, with seamlessly integrated oak are the prime characteristics. Ripe tannins are apparent but not overwhelming, meaning this is a wine which can be enjoyed now or in the next 15 years.
