Nose: A bright bouquet with layers of blackberry, dark chocolate and hints of vanilla.

Palate: A full bodied wine with excellent framework and a multitude of layers. Instantly apparent are blackberry and black cherry fruit with hints of dark chocolate and vanilla characters laying over top. A very decadent and opulent wine with a balanced palate, excellent structure and refined texture.

From 25–40yo vines in the northern Barossa. Matured 18 months in 20–30% new American oak barrels. Blackwell assumes a unique place in the St Hallett hierarchy, embodying the density and impact of the northern Barossa in waves of blackberry and satsuma plum fruit and licorice. Fantastic hue of full, vibrant purple. Dark chocolate oak lurks in the background. Quintessential modern Barossa shiraz in all its glory.
