Shiraz of the Year - Halliday Wine Companion 2024
#1 in Top 2021 Shiraz Adelaide Hills - The Real Review
“As for shiraz, the best – and perhaps the finest wine of the region I've tasted to date this tasting cycle – was the Murdoch Hill Landau Single Vineyard Oakbank Syrah 2021, a mid-weighted wine that evokes top expressions of the northern Rhône with soaring riffs on dried nori, tapenade, blue fruits and salumi, reverberating across a taut palate with the glint of a gun barrel, all nerve and steel.”
James Halliday's reviews: Score awarded by the Halliday tasting panel at the annual Awards judging. Ned Goodwin writes: This is one of the finest Australian shiraz/syrah I have come across in a long time. So finely tuned, aromatic and fresh it makes my head spin. Violet, iodine, purple fruit persuasions and a swathe of the most beautiful, shapely tannins, like pinions of savory enforcement riddling olive and smoked meat across the mid-weighted palate. Clearly fruit comes off a site as beautiful as the hands that crafted this wine.
